Mechanical Fitter (FTC – 16 Weeks, potential extension/permanent)
Location: North Kent
Day Rate: £250
Hours: Monday – Friday 08:00–16:00 (37.5 hrs)
We are currently seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineering Fitter to join a globally renowned organisation. This is a 16-week fixed-term contract with the potential for extension or permanent employment. You’ll play a key role in supporting world championship events infrastructure and equipment, ensuring vital systems are built, maintained, and ready to travel internationally.
The Role:
Bench fitting and assembly for technical support rigs and global infrastructure.
Accurate interpretation of engineering drawings.
Light machining using small lathes and milling machines.
Maintenance, modification, and repair of specialist equipment.
Hands-on contribution to the engineering workshop.
(Desirable) TIG welding in aluminium / FLT Counterbalance operation.
(Occasional) international travel to support equipment setup, repairs, and field operations
Candidate Profile:
Completed mechanical engineering apprenticeship OR 5+ years’ engineering experience.
Strong workshop skills with a proven ability to read and work from drawings.
Practical, hands-on problem solver with attention to detail.
(Desirable) TIG welding capability and/or FLT Counterbalance licence.
Additional Requirements:
Valid UK driving licence.
Valid UK passport (small chance of international travel required).
