An exciting opportunity has become available for a highly motivated, innovative and experienced registered Health Professional to join the divisional leadership team of the Chailey Clinical Services and Sussex Rehabilitation portfolio within our Planned Care Division.
This portfolio consists of a very varied group of services including Specialist Seating, Rehab Engineering, the Chailey Communication Aid service, Therapies and Clinical Support to Pupils - supporting children and adults. It also encompasses Orthotics, Prosthetics and Wheelchair provision at Sussex Rehabilitation Centre and covers the West Sussex Orthotics Service.
This post would suit a clinician with a background or interest in rehabilitation, complex conditions and a passion for multidisciplinary working.
This is an exciting, challenging and rewarding role which would suit an experienced clinical leader with some operational experience and experience of working with people with complex neurological conditions. The post holder will be required to challenge historical ways of working, work innovatively to create efficiencies but maintain high quality standards of care, and possess the ability to participate in challenging conversations. Travel across sites would be encouraged but there is also the opportunity for virtual communication.
The Clinical Head of Service will demonstrate strong professional clinical leadership and provide specialist clinical advice across the services in the portfolio. Acting in support of the Divisional and Deputy Divisional Directors, the post-holder will be a member of the divisional leadership team and work alongside the Operational, other Clinical and the Medical Heads of Service.
The post-holder will play a key role in developing the service to meet the population's needs at locality and regional level and will be a role model for leadership, training, coaching and facilitating staff development. Collaborative working across the services in the interest of our patients is actively encouraged, to share best practice and make efficient use of resources.
The post-holder will be expected to provide a clinical perspective to divisional planning and decision making, interpreting national guidance and advise and lead on quality improvement initiatives across the services. Alongside the other Heads of Service, the post-holder will be responsible for the oversight of clinical governance, including the identification, reporting, management and mitigation of clinical risk and patient safety.
