Overview and Purpose of Role
As a Purchasing Expeditor, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely delivery of spare parts by tracking orders, coordinating with suppliers, and resolving any supply chain delays. You will work closely with procurement, warehouse, and logistics teams to maintain optimal inventory levels and support Mallaghan’s commitment to quality and efficiency in ground support equipment manufacturing.
Job Description
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Order Tracking & Expediting
* Monitor and track purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery of spare parts.
* Follow up with suppliers on order status, shipping schedules, and potential delays.
* Identify and escalate supply chain disruptions to minimize impact on operations.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to improve delivery performance.
* Work with suppliers to expedite critical orders when necessary.
* Communicate lead times and delivery expectations to internal teams.
Inventory & Logistics Support
* Coordinate with warehouse and logistics teams to ensure smooth receipt and storage of incoming parts.
* Assist in resolving discrepancies between purchase orders, shipments, and invoices.
* Support inventory control efforts by ensuring accurate and timely replenishment.
Reporting & Compliance
* Maintain accurate records of purchase order statuses, supplier performance, and expediting activities.
* Assist in supplier evaluations and performance reviews.
* Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and industry standards.
Key Skills & Qualifications
* Experience in purchasing, expediting, or supply chain coordination, ideally in manufacturing or engineering.
* Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
* Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office.
* Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
* Must be competent with Microsoft 365 applications.
