Youth Worker (Fixed Term)

Salary: £8,092.50 - £8,499.17
The Youth Work Service in Dumfries and Galloway is offering an opportunity for adults with experience working with young people to join an innovative and award-winning youth work team. The team delivers a range of informal learning programmes across Dumfries & Galloway.
You will be required to work 10 hours per week, 52.14 weeks per year. Your role will involve delivering group work programmes focused on mental health in various locations across Stewartry.
This is a fixed-term post until 31 March 2026.
The position may be suitable for secondment. Applicants must seek agreement from their line manager before applying.
You should be motivated and interested in working informally with young people aged 12+ and have experience in youth work or be personable and good with people.
This challenging and stimulating role is part of a wider team supporting creative youth work activities and involvement across Dumfries and Galloway.
All necessary training will be provided.
A current driving licence is essential. If you have a disability that prevents holding a licence, consideration will be given if alternative transport arrangements can be made.
The role requires evening and weekend work, with payment included in the salary.
This post is classified as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will need to join the PVG Scheme or undergo an update check before employment begins.
Applicants who have resided outside the UK in the last 5 years will need to provide a police record check from the relevant authorities in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check.
