Trade Finance Project Manager sought by a leading investment bank based in London. Inside IR35 - 3 days a week on site. Trade finance systems knowledge is essential.
Profile Summary
To provide project management on key IT investment projects and workstreams, specifically overseeing the migration to a new Trade Finance application and updates to supporting business processes.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Manage all assigned IT programmes/projects, including PID, project plan, organisation chart, budget, quality management, and release documentation.
2. Deliver strategic objectives across business lines through projects and programmes.
3. Ensure projects meet milestones and are delivered according to plan.
4. Manage changes and maintain proper documentation (PID, BRD, FRDs, etc.).
5. Coordinate deployment and releases.
6. Build and sustain relationships with stakeholders across front, middle, and back office.
7. Establish Steering Committees and governance structures.
8. Prepare and report monthly updates to Project Steering Committee and senior management.
9. Develop documentation for IT Strategy Committees or C-Suite as needed.
10. Collaborate with sponsors to develop business cases and ROI analyses for project prioritization.
11. Work with IT planning and liaison teams to secure budget approval.
12. Track projects against budget and ensure delivery within financial constraints.
13. Manage vendor relationships, including negotiations on statements of work, contracts, and SLAs.
14. Identify and manage cross-project risks, issues, dependencies, and assumptions.
15. Proactively address risks and escalate issues when necessary.
16. Manage internal and external resources within a matrix organization.
17. Ensure all deliverables adhere to quality and risk policies.
18. Report weekly project status to planning and IT leadership teams and other stakeholders.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
Specific
* Extensive experience with Trade Finance system projects (Required).
* Knowledge of end-to-end Trade Finance business processes (Desirable).
* Experience with Eximbills (Desirable).
General
* Understanding of project management methodologies, including Agile (Scrum and Kanban).
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Strong IT knowledge across all areas.
* Familiarity with financial market products.
* Customer-focused with a service-oriented approach.
* Excellent organizational and time management skills.
* Effective communication skills for diverse audiences.
* Proven ability to drive change and work under pressure.
* Strong problem-solving skills.
* Ability to coach, mentor, and develop junior team members.
