We are seeking a motivated, enthusiastic, and committed Year 5 Teacher to join a vibrant and inclusive primary school in Southwark, starting ASAP. As a Year 5 Teacher, you will be responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing high-quality lessons across the curriculum. You will support pupils as they develop greater independence, resilience, and critical thinking skills, while ensuring learning is accessible and engaging for all pupils, including those with SEN and EAL. Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality lessons in line with the Year 5 curriculum Assess, track, and monitor pupil progress using effective assessment strategies Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils Promote positive behaviour and high expectations for learning Prepare pupils for the academic demands of Year 6 Create a structured, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment Work closely with teaching assistants and KS2 colleagues Communicate effectively with parents and carers about progress and attainment Contribute to staff meetings, planning sessions, and school improvement initiatives Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and school policies at all times The Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will: Hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) Have recent experience teaching in Key Stage 2, ideally Year 5 Be confident delivering the KS2 curriculum Have strong classroom management and organisational skills Be reflective, enthusiastic, and pupil-focused Be a positive team player with excellent communication skills Be committed to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing The school is based in Southwark, with excellent transport links and a diverse, welcoming community.
