Court of Protection Solicitor – Northampton
We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Court of Protection Solicitor to join a highly regarded Legal Court of Protection team based in Northampton. This is a growth role within a thriving team of, offering real scope to develop your career in a specialist and expanding area of law.
You will manage your own varied caseload while working closely with a supportive and collaborative team, contributing to the continued growth and success of the department. Clients are based regionally, predominantly across Northamptonshire and Leicestershire.
We are open to a range of experience but would ideally be looking for someone with 5+ years PQE. You will need to be confident working independently and running your own caseload, while also benefiting from the guidance, structure and support of an established and highly experienced team.

Key responsibilities include:
1. Managing your own Court of Protection caseload
2. Preparing Court of Protection applications and forms
3. Acting in and progressing Court of Protection proceedings
4. Managing day-to-day financial affairs for clients
5. Visiting clients in their home or care settings
6. Liaising with families, care providers and third parties
7. Dealing with financial institutions on behalf of clients
8. Preparing annual Court of Protection accounts
9. Taking instructions and responding to client and third-party enquiries
10. Making best interest decisions and advising clients
11. Delegating where appropriate and supervising junior fee earners
About you
You will be an experienced Court of Protection practitioner with strong technical ability and excellent interpersonal skills. Compassion, patience and empathy are essential, along with the ability to deliver the highest standards of client care when working with vulnerable and elderly clients and their families.
Strong organisation, common sense, and a calm and professional approach are key, alongside a genuine enthusiasm for Court of Protection work.
