About the role

Early Career Teacher (ECT) – Secondary
Location: Beverley & East Riding of Yorkshire
Start Date: September 2026
Salary: £140 – £162.31 per day (dependent on experience and assignment)

The Role

Vision for Education are seeking motivated and enthusiastic Early Career Teachers (ECTs) to work across a range of secondary schools in Beverley and the East Riding of Yorkshire from September 2026. Whether you are looking to secure your first permanent teaching role or would prefer to gain experience through flexible supply work, we can support you in finding the right opportunity. Supply teaching can be a fantastic way to build confidence, develop your teaching practice, and experience a variety of school settings before committing to a long-term position.

We welcome applications from ECTs of all secondary subject specialisms. You will have the flexibility to choose from a range of assignments, including daily supply, short-term roles, and longer-term placements, allowing you to shape your early teaching career in a way that suits you.

The School

Vision for Education work in partnership with a wide network of secondary schools across Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire, including academies, maintained schools, and multi-academy trusts. Our partner schools provide supportive environments and are experienced in working with ECTs, helping you to develop your skills and confidence in the classroom.

Requirements

To be considered for the role of Early Career Teacher (ECT) – Secondary, you will:

1. Hold (or be due to obtain) Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
2. Be passionate about teaching and committed to professional development
3. Have experience of teaching during your training placements
4. Be confident delivering lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
5. Demonstrate strong communication and classroom management skills
6. Be adaptable, proactive, and eager to learn
7. Be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS check (paid for by Vision for Education)
