My client partners with their clients to make sure that environmental regulations, legislation, and goals are met.
With their head office in Sheffield (but various across the UK and remote options available), they function across the UK and have been doing for the past 20+ years. With an excellent track record and growing business, they are looking to expand with the key appointment of a Senior/Principal Environmental Consultant to join their dynamic team and lead other consultants.
Your new role
Based within the advisory team, you will develop and nurture your own client accounts and oversee delivery, providing environmental guidance and support for them to maintainpliance with legislation and enhance their environmental performance. This will include carrying out audits, applying for permits and licenses, advising on legislation, producing environmental procedures and documentation, and often act as the client’s Environmental Manager.
Experience Required:
1. Implementing, maintaining and/or auditing Environmental Management Systems to ISO14001 standards
2. Environmental permitting, including preparing and submitting applications to the regulatory bodies
3. Planning applications, preparing environmental statements for Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA)
4. Consultation and engagement with regulatory bodies ( Local Authorities, Environment Agency)
5. Carrying out environmental audits, including legalpliance
6. Understanding UK and European environmental legislation and how this translates to clients
7. Working knowledge of the construction, food and drink and manufacturing sectors
8. Working with clients to identify cost effective ways to minimise waste and adopt sustainable solutions
9. Problem solving and successfully managing projects to a conclusion within defined deadlines
10. BREEAM, Construction Environmental Management Plans and CL:AIRE Materials Management Plans
11. Delivery of accredited and non-accredited environmental training courses
12. Desirable but not essential experience would be business development and accountability of delivering work in line with business plan targets

13. Proactive, enthusiastic and conscientious self-starter, proven track record of understanding and interpreting client’s environmental needs and responsibilities
14. Ability to identify decision makers who could benefit from solutions and services
15. High quality management reporting
16. Good organisational and time management skills with demonstrable experience of managing several projects
17. Excellentmunication skills for effective crosspany liaison
18. Effective line management skills including the desire and ability to develop, nurture and delegate to direct reports
19. Effective use of customer relationship management systems
20. A relevant undergraduate or postgraduate degree in environmental science or equivalent
21. Practitioner Membership with IEMA or equivalent
22. Continuous Professional development including: Environmental Management Implementation course or equivalent, Advanced EMS Auditor Training course or equivalent, Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS) / Award in Education and Training (EAT) / or equivalent, Train the Trainer or equivalent
23. Full, clean UK driving licence
