We are looking for a full-time Air Conditioning Engineer to join our growing team of talented engineers. You’ll be working alongside other service engineers across a large number of our commercial clients in the central belt of Scotland. This is a fully remote role and requires a full UK driving licence.
This role will support the effective, efficient, and safe delivery of our client services by attending client sites to conduct planned and reactive maintenance. Thermatic Technical FM provides complete nationwide coverage, across the full spectrum of Hard FM services to large, commercial clients. Our team of mobile engineers is supported by the account teams at Head Office to provide both reactive breakdown and planned maintenance services to our clients.

Hours & Location of Work
Main location – this is a fully mobile role covering the central belt of Scotland.
Regular hours of work – Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm (40‑hour week). Clients may require out‑of‑hours maintenance, so early starts/late finishes & night work are expected.
On‑call – this role includes a 24‑hour on‑call rota, maximum one week in four (Friday‑Thursday).
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
Essential
* Experience with a range of air‑conditioning & refrigeration equipment (VRVs, VRFs, splits, chillers)
* FGAS Category 1 licence
* NVQ Level 2 in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Equipment
* Working knowledge of building regulations
* Understanding of building environmental and electrical services (heating, ventilation, HVAC)
* Sound safety knowledge for maintenance activities
* Basic plumbing and building material skills
* Asbestos awareness
Desirable
* IPAF & PASMA certification
* Part P Electrical certificate
Responsibilities
* Undertaking all aspects of air‑conditioning and refrigeration installation, commission, and maintenance, including service and repair of VRVs, VRFs, splits, and chillers
* Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance per Thermatic’s Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedules and task directives
* Providing accurate timesheet information within designated timeframes
* Carrying out basic facilities maintenance tasks as required
* Supporting team members, acting as second‑man where required
* Participating in the 24‑hour call‑out rota
* Attending team meetings or briefings as required
* Supporting contract teams to meet SLAs by attending client premises within the desired timeframe
* Maintaining positive client relationships through on‑site interactions with client representatives and customers
* Assisting office staff with producing quotations by providing accurate information when extra works are identified
* Producing technical and situational reports as required
* Escalating major site issues or incidents via the appropriate channel and within acceptable timeframes
* Supporting the training and upskilling of junior service engineers
