Finance Director
Location: East Midlands / Hybrid
The Opportunity
A growing and ambitious professional services group is seeking a Finance Director to play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering its financial strategy. Reporting directly to the CFO, this is a high-impact leadership opportunity with responsibility for financial planning, performance insights, risk management, and supporting strategic growth, including M&A activity.
This role offers the chance to influence decision-making at board level while leading and developing a high-performing finance team.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Strategy & Planning
Lead the development of short, medium, and long-term financial plans
Own forecasting, budgeting, and cashflow management
Support strategic initiatives including acquisitions and corporate finance activityFinancial Control & Reporting
Ensure timely and accurate production of management accounts and KPIs
Deliver insightful performance reporting, including variance analysis against budget/forecast
Oversee statutory reporting, tax compliance, and regulatory submissionsRisk & Governance
Manage financial risks, including treasury, investments, and insurance
Ensure full compliance with regulatory and legal requirements (including sector-specific regulations and data protection)Systems & Process Improvement
Drive continuous improvement of finance systems and processes
Lead integration and optimisation of finance platforms with wider business systems
Oversee key operational processes including banking and payrollStakeholder Management
Build strong relationships with internal leadership teams and external partners
Manage relationships with banks, funders, and professional advisorsLeadership & Team Development
Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team
Ensure capability, capacity, and succession planning aligns with business growth
Promote a collaborative and high-performance cultureAbout You
Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent)
Significant experience in a senior finance leadership role
Strong track record in financial planning, reporting, and team leadership
Experience supporting strategic growth initiatives (e.g. acquisitions, refinancing) highly desirable
Commercially astute with the ability to influence at executive level
Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to operate in a fast-paced environment Why Apply?
