Job Description
Motts Travel are one of the largest coach operators in Buckinghamshire, covering a wide variety of transport services including Private Hires, School Transport and Tours, as well as Day Trips and Coach Holidays under our Motts Leisure and Crusader Holidays brands.
Our Operations Team is responsible for supervising the 'day to day' operation of our fleet of more than 50 coaches to ensure the use of all the company vehicles is maximised and all services run smoothly.
As part of the Operations Team, you will be reporting directly to our Senior Operations Manager and our General Manager. In addition, you will work closely with the rest of the Operations Team and our team of Drivers.
Key Responsibilities
· To manage the "day to day" operation of the transport department to ensure the use of all company vehicles are maximised.
· Ensure the daily service delivery, driver, and vehicle allocation's, ensuring all, legal, staffing, engineering, administrative, managerial and customer requirements are meet
· Arrange fleet preparation, operational paperwork "runout" arrangements, correct vehicle type allocation, quality control checks, ensuring the operation is carried out as planned.
· Recognise and manage vehicle breakdowns and operational issues
· Tracking driver performance, vehicle mileage, and other key metrics to identify areas for improvement.
· General admin duties
· Checking vehicle movements via our tracking system
· Covering the duty phone on a rota
Must Haves
· Full UK Driving License
· PCV License & CPC
· Strong local geographical knowledge
· Good, accurate literacy, numeracy, and administrative skills
· The ability to analyse information, multitask and solve general queries.
· Strong IT skills and the ability to use multiple software systems.
· Excellent communication skills and confidence working with a variety of people.
· Confident in answering the telephone.
· Great organisational skills
Nice to Have
· Previous experience in a similar role
· Knowledge and understanding of coaches and coach travel
· Strong geographical knowledge of the UK and Mainland Europe
Hours and Salary
Full Time
Monday to Friday – 55 hours per week, plus 1 in 4 duty weekends on a rota
IRO £38,000-£40,000 per annum
