We are Trismik, an early-stage startup spinning out of Cambridge University developing adversarial tests for Large Language Models (LLMs). Our mission is to provide the fastest and most accurate testing environment to add high value to AI engineers deploying AI applications using LLMs. We aim to help companies and researchers push the state-of-the-art in Artificial Intelligence and achieve the best chance of human-aligned AGI.
We are seeking an early career Graduate Software Engineer to assist in building our Python LLM evaluation library, working closely with the Engineering and Science teams. Remote work within the UK is welcome.
As one of our first hires, this is a high-impact, high-ownership role. You will influence our software and product roadmaps, engage with users and customers to foster platform adoption, and have a significant role in shaping the company's technical direction.
Key responsibilities
Working directly with the CTO, you will lead the development of our open source Python tools and grow our community. The ideal candidate has a passion for software and AI, with experience in LLMs, open source contributions, or personal projects. Responsibilities include:
* Developing our Python open source evaluation library;
* Engaging with the community through GitHub or other channels, fixing bugs, and writing documentation;
* Collaborating with Engineering and Science teams to implement features and metrics;
* Ensuring platform security and performance standards;
* Writing high-quality, well-tested code following best practices;
* Contributing to technical roadmap and strategic planning.
You should be a self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity, innovative, detail-oriented, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Essential qualifications
* Bachelor’s Degree (expected autumn 2025 or obtained) in Computer Science, AI, or equivalent;
* Knowledge of professional software engineering practices across the full development lifecycle;
* Strong proficiency in Python.
Desirable qualifications
* Knowledge of machine learning frameworks (e.g., Torch, Hugging Face) or data analysis platforms (e.g., Pandas);
* Experience with open source projects;
* Experience in community engagement;
* Familiarity with Scrum/Agile methodologies.
