As a Planning and Highways Lawyer, you’ll be at the heart of this change, using your expertise to deliver major developments and ensure the legal frameworks for growth are robust and future-proof.
This is an exciting opportunity for those with planning or highways law experience in a local authority or public sector setting to take on career-defining projects with a tangible legacy.
What You’ll Do
* Draft and negotiate Section 106 agreements and other complex planning obligations
* Advise on major development proposals, including regeneration and transport infrastructure
* Represent Legal Services at Planning Committee, giving clear and confident advice
* Support planning appeals, enforcement cases, and judicial review challenges
* Provide advice on highways law, including agreements and adoption processes
* Work closely with planners, engineers, developers, and senior stakeholders
* Ensure legal frameworks enable sustainable growth and attract investment

What We’re Looking For
* Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or CILEx Fellow
* Strong planning law experience, ideally with complex development agreement exposure
* Knowledge of Section 106 agreements and highways law
* Confidence advising committees and senior stakeholders in public settings
* Commercial acumen and the ability to manage multi-party negotiations
* An interest in regeneration and infrastructure delivery
