Location: Charlton, London SE7
Days & Hours: Fixed Term Contracts (18 months) – both part‑time and full‑time hours available.
Shift Patterns:
* Waking Nights: Monday to Friday, 19:45 – 09:00 (night shifts require carers to be awake all night).
* Afterschool Shifts: Monday to Friday, 15:30 – 20:00 (longer hours available during school holidays).
* Weekends: 08:45 – 20:00.
Pay: £17.14 – £19.28 an hour (dependant on shift; sleeping nights paid at £NLW p/h).
Driving: Desirable – Ability to drive our clients' Wheelchair Adapted Vehicle (WAV), automatic. Using own vehicle desirable for training attendance.
Essential Experience
* Supporting children with complex needs in a family home setting.
* Confident with PEG feeding, suctioning, manual handling, using a hoist, epilepsy management and administering emergency medication (midazolam and diazepam).
* Experience with children requiring close monitoring of epilepsy and gastrostomy management.
* Experience with hoisting transfers that require two carers.
About the Role
You will support Elijah, a child born in 2013 with Cerebral Palsy, epilepsy, a gastrostomy and requiring full assistance with daily care, mobility and transfer. Your responsibilities will include
* PEG feeding and suctioning.
* Monitoring and recording health status and observations.
* Medication administration.
* Assisting with mobility via hoisting and supporting therapies.
* Promoting Elijah’s learning, care and independence within the home and community.
