Summary
A caring, reliable, and supportive Personal Assistant is required to provide 1:1 support for a 6-year-old boy with Global Developmental Delay. He is non-verbal and requires assistance with communication.
The candidate will assist him in visiting parks, swimming, outdoor walks, messy play, and arts and crafts, both at the family home and in the local community, helping him access activities safely and build independence away from his family.
The role is part-time, offering 5 hours per week, with flexible timing. Availability on weekends and school holidays is essential.
The hourly rate is £13.45, with a mileage allowance paid when the young person is transported in the PA's vehicle. A full driving licence and access to a vehicle with business-use insurance are essential. The successful applicant will be employed under a private arrangement with the family.
Requirements: experience or a good understanding of working with children or young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). All offers of employment will be subject to an enhanced DBS check, which is administered by Cornwall Council.
