Overview
The Programme Officer will support the Senior Programme Officer with the strategic and operational development of the Joint Health and Wellbeing Strategy and the delivery of the Director of Public Health Annual Report. They will also assist the Service Lead with coordinating Health and Wellbeing Board meetings, working across the Public Health Division and with external partners. The role will include monitoring progress against associated strategies and identifying areas for collaboration. The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic individual with key skills that can be applied to support understanding and address the city's public health challenges. We are happy to consider individuals from various academic and professional backgrounds who can apply their skills to address public health issues.
Responsibilities
* Support the Senior Programme Officer with the strategic and operational development of the Joint Health and Wellbeing Strategy and the delivery of the Director of Public Health Annual Report.
* Assist the Service Lead with coordinating Health and Wellbeing Board meetings, working across the Public Health Division and with external partners.
* Monitor progress against associated strategies and identify areas for collaboration.
* Support the coordination and delivery of core governance functions, including Public Health governance processes, performance monitoring and risk management.
* Contribute to key work areas such as Population Health Impact Assessments, Information Governance, and statutory responsibilities including awareness of the Health & Wellbeing Board and the Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment.
* Work collaboratively with Public Health colleagues and wider council teams to ensure compliance, effective partnership working and continuous improvement across services.
Job Details
The post is a permanent, full‑time role. Interviews will take place in person. Shortlisted candidates will receive further information. Sponsorship is not available for this post.
