You’ll support boards and committees, maintain governance standards, and make a real impact on the communities we serve. About the role As Governance Officer, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring high standards of governance across the organisation. You’ll take ownership of board and committee meetings, preparing agendas and producing accurate minutes. You’ll provide impartial advice on governance matters, maintain statutory records, and support non-executive directors and trustees throughout their tenure - including recruitment, induction, development and appraisal planning. Working full time on a permanent basis (36.25 hours per week), you will deliver governance training, promote a culture of compliance and best practice, and contribute to regulatory returns, policy administration, and external audits. It’s a varied and rewarding role where your attention to detail, organisational skills, and ability to build strong relationships will make a real difference. What We Are Looking For To be successful in this role, you should have: Essential Previous experience of minute-taking at senior levels Strong organisational skills and attention to detail Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with confidence to engage at all levels Strong literacy and IT skills Desirable Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle for business purposes Experience delivering governance training or supporting audits Knowledge of governance frameworks and compliance requirements.
