Department Overview
The Guardian team is a call‑taking & dispatching platform used by emergency operators across the UK and Europe. It helps 999 or 112 operators answer public calls and dispatch responders, ensuring the right response when every second counts. The team operates remotely, managing workflows with Google Chat and G‑Suite.
Job Description
This graduate position will develop, test and deliver next‑generation dispatching solutions within a client‑server architecture. You will work across the full life cycle: requirements capture, design, implementation, testing and deployment. The role also offers career paths into senior engineering, business analysis and project management.
Basic Requirements
* A minimum of a 2:1 degree in Computing Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
* Hands‑on experience with object‑oriented languages, especially JavaScript and TypeScript.
* Strong focus on code quality, testing and performance.
* Good communication and English language skills.
* Agile mindset and ability to work collaboratively.
* UK residency for the past 3 years (required for security checks).
