Our client, a respected name in high-quality timber window and door manufacturing with over 140 years of history, is seeking a Design Technical Engineer to join their team. Known for combining traditional craftsmanship with modern innovation, this family-owned business prides itself on delivering superior bespoke products for leading architects, developers, and restorers across the UK.
The Role
In this key position, you will help drive product development by designing, refining and optimising high-performance timber windows and doors. Youll support continuous improvement, maximise the potential of design software and machinery, and collaborate across departments to deliver custom technical solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Create and maintain detailed CAD models, drawings and specifications
Optimise design and production processes, including CNC programming
Perform rigorous testing to ensure durability, functionality and safety standards are met
Manage accurate technical documentation and ensure compliance
Work closely with sales and design teams to support custom projects and provide technical guidance
What Were Looking For
Strong CAD and IT skills, with great attention to detail
Analytical thinker with excellent problem-solving ability
Confident interpreting technical drawings
A team player with strong communication skills
Degree in mechanical, industrial or related engineering field (desirable)
CNC programming experience and architectural or building engineering background (desirable)
