Contract Type: Fixed Term post until 31/03/2026 due to grant funding
Hours: Full Time 37 hours per week
Location of post: Hybrid working, base at Taibach Library, Commercial Road, Taibach, Port Talbot, SA13 1LN
We are currently looking for a qualified and experienced early years professional with experience of leading training to join our highly skilled Early Years and Flying Start Childcare Team, as our Early Years Advisor for training.

The main duties of the post:
Working under the supervision of the Childcare Lead, within the multi agency Early Years and Flying Start Childcare Team, you will carry out a range of duties to lead and support the continued development of the high-quality childcare settings within the programme in Neath Port Talbot.
1. To create and deliver sector leading training to early years leaders and professionals within childcare and early education environments.
2. To support and guide childcare and early education providers using the curriculum for non-maintained settings.
3. To establish effective working relationships with the Early Years and Flying Start childcare settings and ensure positive transition to education providers.
4. To work closely with multi-agencies and promote strategies to engage parents to participate in childcare, Flying Start, and other Early Years support services.
5. To provide training around child-led play pedagogy to childcare settings and early years school settings, based around the implementation of the Curriculum for funded Non-maintained nursery settings
You will have experience of:
Working in a multi-agency way with a wide range of professionals
Early Years Curriculum setting experience
Delivering training to professionals
Ideally you will have:
Qualified teacher status plus relevant experience of working with children, families and early years settings or a degree relevant to childcare, child development and/or education, a higher level Childcare Qualification and significant experience of both childcare and training is essential.
The knowledge and expertise to promote continuous quality improvement and through championing the world class nature of early education and care practices.
An understanding of the care and educational needs of children from age two to three years, focusing on the skill development of childcare settings who support the Flying Start eligible children.
Recent and substantial experience and knowledge of Foundation Learning and Curriculum for Wales in an early years context.
Flying Start (FS) is a Welsh Government (WG) initiative, which seeks to target support for pre-school children and their families within identified areas, and to deliver specific outcomes for children.
