Job Title: Joiner
Location: North East Region (based at Mitie Painting, 4 Redesdale Court, Whorlton Road, Middlesbrough, TS2 1RL)
Rate of Pay:£16.83 per hour
Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Weekly Hours: 39 hours
Shift Pattern
* Monday to Thursday: 8:00 AM – 4:45 PM
* Friday: 8:00 AM – 3:45 PM
What Youll Be Doing
As a Joiner, youll carry out a wide range of joinery tasks, both structural and decorative. Your responsibilities will include:
* Measuring, cutting, and assembling wood and other materials to specification
* Installing doors, windows, staircases, skirting boards, and other fittings
* Reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and work plans
* Using and maintaining hand and power tools safely and effectively
* Performing general repairs and replacing damaged woodwork or fixtures
* Erecting access equipment and setting up temporary screening as needed
* Monitoring stock levels and requesting materials in advance
* Keeping your work area clean, tidy, and organised
* Working collaboratively with other trades and site teams to ensure efficient project delivery
* Recording and reporting job details via mobile technology or job sheets
What Were Looking For
* Proven experience in joinery or carpentry, ideally within maintenance or construction
* NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Carpentry & Joinery (or equivalent trade qualification) preferred
* Strong attention to detail and the ability to work from technical drawings
* Able to work independently and as part of a team
* Excellent communication and customer service skills
* Basic IT/smartphone skills to log and record job activity
* Full UK driving licence and own tools are advantageous
* A good understanding of Health & Safety procedures and regulations
