What you'll bring to the team Are you eager to make a difference in wildlife conservation and care? Join the Cornish Seal Sanctuary as a Trainee Animal Care Specialist and get hands-on experience in the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of grey seal pups and other marine life.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with daily animal husbandry and the care of resident wildlife, including seal pups and marine mammals.
Contribute to the rescue, rehabilitation, and release efforts for grey seal pups in distress.
Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of animal enclosures, plant systems and life support equipment.
Educate the public on the importance of wildlife conservation and the animals in our care.
Support the team with husbandry training, enrichment, and the development of animal welfare protocols.
What You’ll Gain:

This is a full-time, 12-month, fixed-term contract. Working any 5 days out of 7.
Qualifications & Experience Experience in animal care or wildlife rehab (paid or voluntary)
Studying towards or holding an animal-related qualification
Confident with animal husbandry, feeding, cleaning and welfare checks
Strong team player with a proactive attitude
Good communicator, comfortable engaging with the public
Basic understanding of life support systems or willing to learn
Flexible with hours and happy to work outdoors in all weathers
Passionate about conservation and sustainability
Must live within 20 minutes of the centre
