We're working with a successful and expanding organisation in Grimsby to recruit an experienced Payroll Specialist to join a busy, fast‑moving payroll function and team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, thrives under pressure, and is confident managing payroll from start to finish.
The Role
You'll play a key part in ensuring colleagues are paid accurately and on time across both weekly and monthly cycles. The position is hands‑on and wide‑ranging, covering everything from onboarding new starters to supporting year‑end activity. You'll be the go‑to person for payroll queries and will work closely with HR, finance and managers across the business.
Day‑to‑day, you'll be involved in:
* Managing the full payroll lifecycle
* Checking and processing time and attendance data
* Handling statutory payments and ensuring compliance with current legislation
* Supporting pension administration and auto‑enrolment
* Responding to queries around tax, NI and pay
* Assisting with audits, reporting and year‑end tasks
* Identifying opportunities to streamline processes and improve accuracy
About You
We're looking for someone who brings:
* Solid experience running end‑to‑end payroll in a busy environment
* Confidence working with high‑volume or complex payrolls
* Strong technical understanding of payroll legislation and statutory payments
* Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach
* The ability to work to tight deadlines without compromising accuracy
* Strong communication skills and a discreet, professional manner
* Good systems knowledge, including Excel and time & attendance platforms
