Overview
Applications are invited for a part-time History and Theory Teaching Associate to take up an appointment no later than 1 January 2026. This fixed-term post is available until 31 August 2026 and is to provide temporary cover.
The post-holder will have knowledge and teaching experience of the socio-political dimensions of history and theory, with research publications in these areas. The role will contribute to research-led teaching across the Department that draws on Cambridge's research-rich environment and supports the University's national and international reputation for excellence. The Department is undergoing change and growth, and pedagogical innovations that enhance student learning and experience are welcomed.
The post-holder would also be expected to provide at least 40 hours of supervisions for their own courses, for first-year undergraduates and for dissertations, for which additional remuneration would be provided by the Colleges.
In all cases the appointee will be expected to contribute to administrative duties, commensurate with the role. Attendance at staff meetings, away days and other relevant meetings is part of the role.
Candidates must be skilled in successfully developing and delivering teaching in architecture and design at university level, and have experience of developing teaching material for lectures and seminars by introducing innovative material or developing course activities.
Candidates must have: a very good BA and MArch degree in Architecture and have completed, or be about to complete a PhD in Architectural History or Theory, or have equivalent demonstrable experience and/or hold a teaching qualification as appropriate.
