Monitoring Support Engineer - SolarWinds
Milton Keynes - Hybrid (2-3 days in the office, rotating so must be commutable to MK)

As a SolarWinds Monitoring Engineer for this leading MSP, you'll play a key role in supporting some of their largest Monitoring‑as‑a‑Service (MaaS) customers, ensuring their environments stay stable, secure, and proactively managed.
Working closely with the Service Desk, you'll take ownership of SolarWinds alerts and events, triaging issues, investigating root causes, and resolving problems to maintain exceptional monitoring standards across complex customer infrastructures.
This is the perfect entry‑level engineering opportunity for someone with a solid foundation in IT who's ready to develop specialist skills in SolarWinds and wider infrastructure monitoring.
Your daily tasks will include:
Monitor and action SolarWinds alerts, events, and customer raised MaaS tickets.
Perform initial investigation, triage, and escalation.
Maintain data accuracy across monitored estates (node status, polling, alert configuration).
Work closely with the Service Desk to ensure timely ticket updates and customer communication.
Assist in enhancing monitoring configuration, dashboards, and alerting logic under guidance from senior engineers.
Support platform health checks, documentation updates, and basic troubleshooting of SolarWinds modules (NPM, SAM, etc.).
Follow service management processes including Incident, Request, Problem, and Event Management.
What are we looking for?
Basic understanding of infrastructure components - servers, networks, storage, applications.
Exposure to monitoring tools (SolarWinds Mandatory).
Strong troubleshooting mindset and willingness to learn SolarWinds platform administration.
Familiarity with IT service desk environments and ticketing processes.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
