Senior Biomedical Scientist role at NHS Scotland

The Belford Hospital in Fort William (Lochaber) provides Biochemistry, Haematology, Coagulation, Blood Transfusion and Microbiology services as part of the wider NHS Highland laboratory network. The post holder will join a multi-disciplinary team to provide a high-quality service to the Lochaber area.
Fort William is located in the Outdoor Capital of the UK, offering opportunities for water sports, mountaineering and snow sports. The area is within easy reach of Glasgow, Inverness and Stirling.
Requirements: HCPC registered; professional knowledge and technical expertise of laboratory practice attained through either a relevant Master’s Degree or IBMS specialist portfolio. Experience of practical laboratory work following written protocols is essential. Experience of working in a multidisciplinary environment is desirable.
Candidates should demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team. Once trained, the successful candidate will be required to contribute to an on-call 24/7/365 rota.
It is an exciting time to join the Belford Hospital team as the Lochaber redesign project progresses toward a new state-of-the-art hospital laboratory to develop skills further.
