We are working with a fast-growing technology company developing new energy storage solutions.
Now on a growth trajectory, we require a Process Engineering Manager to take responsibility to advance the system from front end engineering design to commissioned plant to cost and performance targets.
An overview Design:
Ensure that chemical/process engineering within projects are carried out in accordance with required engineering and project processes.
Review and acceptance of chemical engineering documentation and drawings produced by the external supply chain.
Own and control Process documentation such as P&ID’s, Layouts, Cause and effect diagrams, SOPs, etc.
Following through the design process from feasibility studies, conceptual design, Front End Engineering Design (FEED), Detailed Design/Engineering of process solutions as may be required, plant pre-commissioning, commissioning.
Development of process simulations.
Attending and contributing to technical design review meetings.
Assessing and improving design for manufacture, assembly, maintenance.
Health and Safety:
Risk assessment and method statement preparation
Participate and/or Lead safety studies such as HAZOPs, LOPAs, HAZIDs, etc.
Project Engineering
Creating specifications, identifying suppliers, managing procurement process, identifying and implementing verification activities.
Management of suppliers and coordination with team to meet plan.
Planning and project management of assembly process for subsystems.
Participating in scrum teams across a range of one-off technical projects.
Skills and Experience
In order to succeed in this role, you will need the following skills and experience:
1. Experience of process and systems engineering, safety and performance analysis for high-pressure, high-temperature systems – pressure vessel, piping, thermal storage.
2. An understanding of quality assurance and certification requirements for such systems.
3. An understanding of how to specify pressure equipment and engage with potential suppliers to verify that they are capable of delivering to specification, budget and schedule.
4. An understanding of installation, commissioning, operating documentation and in service support requirements for such systems.
5. Project, risk, cost, forecasting and budget management skills.
