About the Role
We have an exciting contract opportunity for you to join our Quality team in Merthyr Tydfil as a QA Engineer.This position is to support Ajax at Merthyr for a period of up to 18 months depending upon start date.
You will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
Dealing with quality defects on the shop floor products, this will include liaising with the Operations, Engineering and Manufacturing teams to understand the issue and help to resolve it by:
* Containing the problem to stop it getting any worse.
* Quarantining the defective part such that it can't be used.
* Resolving the issue with the defective part to either rework it or replace it.
* Liaising with the wider team to ensure effective communication.
The role will also include undertaken visual inspection activities on the product.

Required skills, qualifications and experience
5. Dealing confidently with people from a range of backgrounds and technical ability in a high pressure environment.
6. Effective decision making and taking responsibility to see the issue through to resolution.
7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
8. High level of IT skills with standard MS Office packages.
9. SAP Quality module experience desirable but not essential.
10. Experience of root cause and corrective action investigations, as a desirable.
