Are you passionate about making a difference to the lives of children? Are you self-motivated, enthusiastic and well-organised? Then we welcome you to apply for this vital position of Learning Support Assistant.

Our academy ethos, 'Life in all its fullness', underlines our commitment to the education of the whole of the child, with the development of our students' character and cultural capital as important as their academic progress. Committed to the wellbeing of our students and staff alike, we pride ourselves on our duty of care to both.

Accordingly, our Academy is at an exciting point in its development and the inclusion faculty is now positioned in the heart of the academy, providing a refurbished base which is already having a positive impact on the students who access this provision. Moreover, as a new commitment to furthering SEND provision, we have strengthened our team so we have nine colleagues working with our students in and out of the classroom.

The successful candidates will support the learning and achievements of individuals and groups of students within the classroom and through specific interventions. You need to be able to work effectively as part of a team and have a good standard of literacy, ICT and numeracy in order to carry out associated administrative duties. Please refer to the full job description and person specification for further details. Specific SEND training or experience is not essential though this will be an advantage.

In return the successful candidate will be offered the following career and development opportunities:

* A thorough package of induction and support;
* Excellent CPD provision within the Academy;
* A staff well-being package.

The position is full time and term time only. Applicants should apply via the TES website and follow the guidance notes provided. For further information please contact

Closing date for applications is midday on 8th October unless we receive a suitable applicant in advance of that in which case we reserve the right to close the vacancy early.

Interviews will be held week commencing 13th October 2025.

About The National Church of England Academy

The National Church of England Academy

Annesley Road, Hucknall, Nottingham

Nottinghamshire

NG15 7DB

United Kingdom

National Church of England Academy is a successful, dynamic secondary academy, offering an all-round education for students. The academy began life as a small school in 1788, and has served the community of Hucknall ever since. We have developed from these humble beginnings into the successful academy that exists and thrives today.

Our aim is to provide a happy and stimulating environment in which young people can develop and grow, preparing them for life after the academy. We want all students who attend National to take their places in the world fully prepared and with a great education, as well-qualified and responsible citizens, with strong values. Our staff work very hard to ensure that all students have high aspirations and do their best to achieve their goals. We are hugely proud of the high standard of teaching and support that we offer to all students, something that is acknowledged and recognised by the quality of our Ofsted reports.

In return for the teaching and support we give to students, we expect them to work hard, behave well, and do their best. The high standards support the high levels of achievement and progress made in all areas across the academy. Our exam outcomes at GCSE and A level are above national averages and we believe that this achievement, coupled with a strong emphasis on individual personal development has enabled students to have greater opportunities and improved life chances.

We are an Anglican foundation. This does not mean that we only accept pupils from a Christian background. We welcome children of all faiths, and of none, who seek education within a framework of strong moral values
