Responsibilities and duties of the Commercial Manager role
Reporting to the Senior Leadership Team / Director you will:
* Take full commercial responsibility for engineering projects from tender through to completion
* Ensure the successful commercial management of all projects
* Manage, lead and develop a small commercial team
* Liaise with and influence customers and subcontractors
* Work closely with internal departments to ensure successful and profitable outcomes
* Maintain strong financial control of projects from award through to completion
* Prepare and submit contract applications and variations throughout the contract lifecycle
* Assess and advise on contract terms and conditions for UK and international contracts
* Review and amend contractual terms for mechanical and electrical installation projects
* Ensure financial and contractual information is provided in a timely manner to support company accounts and cashflow forecasting
* Support the development and training of commercial staff
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
* Significant experience in commercial management
* Proven experience working within a project-led engineering environment
* Strong knowledge of contract management and commercial delivery across engineering projects
* Experience managing and developing commercial teams
* Extensive experience using NEC 3/4 contracts (Options A, C & E)
