A senior healthcare assistant provides direct care to patients or residents, supervises junior staff, and may be involved in care planning and medication management. They work under the supervision of registered nurses or other healthcare professionals. In the NHS, they are typically employed at Band 3 on the Agenda for Change pay scale.
Key Responsibilities:
* Direct Patient Care: Assisting with personal care tasks like bathing, dressing, and toileting, as well as supporting with meals and mobility.
* Supervision of Staff: Overseeing and supporting junior healthcare assistants or care staff.
* Care Planning: Contributing to the development and implementation of care plans.
* Medication Management: Administering and recording medications (following appropriate training and protocols).
* Monitoring and Reporting: Observing and reporting changes in patients' conditions, including vital signs.
* Communication: Maintaining effective communication with patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals.
* Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records.
* Promoting Independence: Supporting patients to maintain their independence and dignity.
Positions available:
We are currently recruiting for three dedicated and compassionate Senior Care Assistants to join our team at a well-established care home in Wrexham.
* 1 x Day shift worker £13.42 hr
* 2 x Night shift worker £14.42 hr
Dure to its location candidates MUST have access to their own vehicle as public transport cannot be relied upon.
Qualifications required:
* NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care (minimum) Ideally Level 3.
* Experience in a Senior care or supervisory role preferred.
* Ability to lead by example and ensure high standards of care.
* Proof of right to work in the UK
* Proof of National Insurance
* Able to work 12hr shifts and a minimum 36hr per week throughout the year.

I am recruiting for this role for a 28-bedroom, residential care home, providing high quality care looking after Dementia patients.
Overseen by an experienced and highly visible Home Manager, residents receive 24/7 personal care from a skilled team of senior carers and care assistants.
