Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Contracts & Operations Manager with a geotechnical or civil site management background. You’ll manage projects from post-award through to handover, overseeing site operations and teams, ensuring safe and efficient delivery, and maintaining high standards across ground investigation and geotechnical projects. A strong commercial mindset is essential, with responsibility for budgets, contracts, and client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
* Take contracts from award to completion, planning and organising resources effectively.
* Lead and supervise site teams and subcontractors, ensuring safe, efficient operations.
* Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations on site.
* Coordinate geotechnical or site investigations, including sampling, reporting, and analysis workflows.
* Manage project budgets, timelines, and reporting, maintaining commercial oversight.
* Maintain communication with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams.
* Oversee project handover, ensuring all documentation and deliverables are complete.
* Identify operational risks and implement proactive, practical solutions.
Requirements:
* Proven experience in geotechnical projects, ground investigation, or site operations.
* Strong commercial acumen with experience managing contracts and project budgets.
* Experience leading teams and coordinating multiple projects simultaneously.
* Excellent organisational, planning, and leadership skills.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Relevant qualifications in geotechnical engineering, civil engineering, or site operations preferred.
