We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Engineer to oversee our logistics department, with a specific focus on managing robots, palletisers, conveyor tracks, and other auxiliary equipment. As the Technical lead you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of these critical systems, as well as managing budgets, developing planned maintenance plans and schedules, and overseeing day-to-day breakdowns. This role requires a strong technical background in engineering, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to effectively manage a team. Responsibilities: - Technical Management: - Oversee the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of robots, palletisers, conveyor tracks, and other auxiliary equipment within the logistics department. - Develop and implement effective maintenance strategies to maximize uptime and minimize downtime. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize equipment performance and resolve technical issues. - Stay updated with industry advancements and emerging technologies related to logistics equipment and systems. - Budget Management: - Manage the budget for the logistics department, including equipment maintenance, repairs, and upgrades. - Develop cost-effective solutions to minimize expenses while ensuring operational efficiency. - Track expenditures, analyse financial data, and provide regular reports to senior management. - Planned Maintenance: - Develop and implement comprehensive planned maintenance plans and schedules for all logistics equipment. - Coordinate maintenance activities, including inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs. - Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards in all maintenance operations. - Breakdown Management: - Respond promptly and efficiently to equipment breakdowns, minimizing production disruptions. - Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to prioritize and resolve breakdowns effectively. - Analyse breakdown trends and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences. - Team Leadership: - Lead and coacha team of technicians, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback. - Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and continuous improvement. - Set goals, establish performance metrics, and evaluate the team's performance against objectives. - Requirements: - Strong technical knowledge and understanding of mechanical, electrical, and control systems. - Proficiency in developing and executing planned maintenance plans and schedules. - Budget management skills, including the ability to allocate resources effectively and control costs. - Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities to address equipment breakdowns and technical issues. - Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team. - Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels. - Knowledge of safety regulations and industry standards related to logistics equipment. - Proactive mindset with a continuous improvement mindset and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
