Quarry Bank Medical Centre and Edgbaston Wellness Clinic are seeking two ambitious, motivated and values-driven individuals to join our organisation as Service Manager Apprentices.
This is not a traditional apprenticeship.
These positions form part of a long-term organisational investment in developing the next generation of healthcare leaders capable of managing regulated healthcare services and ultimately progressing into Registered Manager positions.
Successful candidates will be immersed in the operational, regulatory, governance and leadership functions of two thriving healthcare organisations whilst completing the nationally recognised Level 5 Leader in Adult Care Apprenticeship.
Throughout the programme, apprentices will receive mentorship, structured development and practical leadership experience designed to prepare them for senior management responsibilities.
Main duties of the job
This is an exciting opportunity to develop a career in healthcare management within a busy NHS GP surgery whilst also gaining exposure to the wider healthcare sector through our partnership with Edgbaston Wellness Clinic.
Working alongside experienced managers and clinicians, you will gain practical experience in the operational, financial, and administrative functions that support high-quality patient care. You will contribute to service improvement projects, support business and workforce planning, assist with performance monitoring, and help ensure the smooth day-to-day running of healthcare services.
The role offers a unique insight into both NHS and independent healthcare environments, providing experience that extends beyond traditional administration and helping to develop the skills required for future leadership positions. This apprenticeship is ideal for someone who is organised, motivated, professional, and interested in making a positive difference within healthcare services.
You will be supported throughout your apprenticeship by experienced healthcare leaders and will have the opportunity to develop valuable management, communication, and problem-solving skills whilst working towards a recognised qualification.
