GSL Education are seeking a dedicated Religious Education (RE) Teacher to work in schools across Sheffield (S5, S9), delivering engaging lessons and supporting students to develop a deeper understanding of world religions, ethics, and philosophy. As an RE Teacher, you will play a vital role in encouraging critical thinking, respectful discussion, and cultural awareness within the classroom. You will plan and deliver lessons in line with the curriculum and syllabus, ensuring that students of all abilities are supported and challenged appropriately. Responsibilities: Plan and deliver high-quality RE lessons in line with the curriculum and syllabus Teach across key stages 3, 4 and 5, supporting students of varying abilities Encourage respectful debate and critical thinking within lessons Assess, monitor, and record student progress, providing clear feedback Maintain strong classroom management and a safe learning environment Contribute to departmental planning and whole-school activities Requirements: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE, or equivalent teaching qualification Bachelor’s degree in Religious Education, Theology, Philosophy, or a related subject Experience teaching RE in schools Strong classroom management and communication skills A commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply) Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection, and successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks, including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service or completing a new application.
