Mitie Projects – Engineering Graduate Programme 2026. Start Date: September 2026. Locations: Chesterfield, Manchester, Doncaster, Scunthorpe. Starting Salary: £30,000, with guaranteed six-monthly salary uplifts and a £1,000 relocation and early-career support allowance.
Mitie Projects sits at the heart of Mitie’s mission to design and deliver engineering projects that support critical infrastructure, power systems and sustainability ambitions. Our Engineering Graduate Programme gives you the opportunity to join this work from day one.
Over two years, you will shape your own rotational journey by co-designing rotations with us. You will rotate across specialist areas including Power & Grid businesses, JCA Engineering, our Projects Centre of Excellence, and our Consulting and Energy Solutions teams.
You will contribute to real projects for major clients, gaining experience across design, energy systems, project delivery, infrastructure and sustainability. In year one you will complete two six-month rotations; in year two you will spend a full year developing deeper expertise in a chosen specialism.
Your development includes technical masterclasses, leadership training and project-based learning, with structured guidance and mentors to progress toward Incorporated or Chartered status with your engineering institution (e.g., IMechE, IET, CIBSE). You will join a collaborative graduate community with supportive line management.
In project work you will be hands-on: supporting project delivery, assisting with modelling and technical drawings, analysing site data, driving carbon reduction and performance improvements, and bringing data-informed insights to decision-making. You will collaborate with engineering, commercial, operations and consulting teams to create environments where people and organisations can thrive.
We partner with over 3,000 public- and private-sector clients, including Network Rail, Rolls-Royce, NHS and the Eden Project. Through Mitie Projects we design and deliver engineering solutions for critical infrastructure, power systems and sustainability ambitions, offering you opportunities to work on meaningful projects.
What We Can Offer
We provide a competitive reward package to support your early career: a £30,000 starting salary with automatic salary uplifts every six months as capability grows, and a £1,000 joining allowance to assist with relocation, commuting or early-career costs. After the programme, you move into a permanent role with guaranteed progression.

You should bring strong problem-solving skills, clear and confident communication, and the ability to work with data to make informed decisions. You should be organised, adaptable and comfortable collaborating with diverse teams and clients.
