This role involves supporting Barclays' commitment to maintaining world-class real estate and engineering facilities that support retail banking operations. As a Retail Engineering Manager, you will work with the Corporate Real Estate Management Team to ensure retail buildings are compliant with regulations, operationally efficient, and aligned with transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and develop capital project proposals and operations related to real estate and physical assets.
* Oversee planning, design, procurement, and construction processes to ensure timely and within-budget delivery.
* Identify risks in capital projects and develop mitigation strategies.
* Manage project budgets, track expenses, forecast costs, and identify savings.
* Coordinate with stakeholders including project sponsors, vendors, regulators, and facilities teams.
* Improve project delivery processes and implement best practices.
* Ensure projects meet quality standards and comply with laws and policies.
Candidate Profile
* Qualified Engineer with experience in facilities management, building services compliance, or real estate operations, preferably in retail or banking.
* Strong knowledge of building regulations, health and safety standards, and risk management.
* Experience managing multiple projects balancing operational and strategic goals.
* Effective stakeholder management skills, including dealing with internal teams, contractors, and regulators.
