The Role As our Health & Safety Manager, youll be at the heart of our commitment to safety and well-being. Youll lead on compliance, policy development, and continuous improvement, ensuring our people, processes, and practices meet the highest standards. Key Responsibilities: Policy Leadership: Develop, maintain, and communicate health & safety policies in line with UK legislation. Risk Management: Conduct risk assessments, lead audits, and liaise with external bodies to maintain compliance. Emergency Preparedness: Design and implement emergency response plans, coordinate drills, and manage equipment maintenance. Safety Culture: Lead awareness campaigns, training, and initiatives that foster proactive safety behaviours. Incident Investigation: Analyse incidents and near-misses, identify root causes, and deliver effective preventive measures. Budget Management: Oversee the H&S budget and ensure appropriate investment in training and resources. What Were Looking For Were seeking someone who brings expertise, energy, and a collaborative mindset to the table. Essential Skills & Experience: Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or related field. NEBOSH / IOSH certification (or equivalent). Minimum 5 years experience in H&S management, ideally within manufacturing (food, pharma, or chemical). Strong analytical and communication skills able to influence at all levels. Confident using Microsoft Office; familiarity with Lean, 5S, or Six Sigma is an advantage. Proven ability to lead change and foster strong working relationships.
