Pay Range
Base pay starts at £27,224 per annum. Sleep‑in shifts are paid £60 per night. Travel expenses: 45p per mile.
Hours and Contract
Full time, 37 hours per week. Includes 30 hours hands‑on care, 7 hours management, shift pattern with weekends and sleep‑ins. Permanent contract.
What you’ll be doing
As Assistant Service Manager, you’ll work alongside the Service Manager to ensure a safe and caring service for the people we support and our colleagues. You will:
* Be visible in day‑to‑day operation of the service, supporting duties in line with the needs of those supported.
* Provide leadership and management to the team, monitoring performance, carrying out one‑to‑ones and appraisals, holding team meetings.
* Assume responsibility for day‑to‑day running of the service in the absence of the Service Manager.
* Build positive relationships with stakeholders and deliver a first‑class, person‑centred service.
* Organise support in innovative ways to help people achieve independence.

Who we are looking for
* Experience supporting people with learning difficulties in a social care setting.
* Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or actively working towards).
* A strong caring nature and desire to help others live an enriched life.
* Working knowledge of the Care Council for Wales Code of Practice.
* Flexibility to work shifts and provide cover as required.
* Full driving licence (essential). Ability to travel for meetings and training.
* Own car to transport people, and permission to use vehicle for business travel (paid 45p per mile).
