A typical day involves completing eye examinations, contact lens fittings, and extended service examinations. You will work alongside our Dispensing Optician Manager to support training, coaching, and maintaining departmental standards.
Due to our extended service contracts with the NHS, we are committed to providing a wide range of care for the treatment and monitoring of eye conditions. We support you in gaining any additional accreditations needed to deliver these services.

We are seeking a dedicated Optometrist to join our dynamic team, committed to excellence in healthcare. We want a skilled candidate eager to contribute to our store's service levels and foster positive relationships within our team and the wider community.
At Asda, our focus is on service and creating memorable experiences for our customers. You will be able to use your clinical skills and passion to help achieve this.
You'll be:
* A fully qualified optometrist registered with the GOC
* A registered performer with your NHS area team or health board
* MECs or WECs accredited (or willing to gain accreditation within 12 months, supported and funded by us)
* On track to meet statutory CPD points requirements
* Able to deliver a memorable customer experience using your skills and passion
* Passionate about developing new patient services and shaping the department's culture
When applying for any of our Optical positions, you must be registered with the General Optical Council (GOC) for the relevant professional role. You will also need evidence of your Right To Work in the UK.
During the compliance process, we’ll ask for evidence of NHS performer list inclusion for your country of work, along with two clinical references. In Wales, we’ll require WECS and WGOS module accreditation evidence.
