What You'll Do:
As Legal Counsel, your role will involve acting as a trusted advisor for one of the organisation's largest business units-guiding them through every stage of contract negotiation, drafting key agreements for major frameworks and joint ventures (including those with international reach), and ensuring all documentation aligns with best practice standards. You will also:
* Act as the main point of contact for legal matters relating to construction and infrastructure projects in the water, energy, and transport sectors.
* Draft, negotiate, review, and advise on complex construction contracts including NEC, FIDIC, JCT forms as well as major framework agreements and joint ventures for large-scale initiatives.
* Advise on ancillary documentation such as performance bonds, collateral warranties, ensuring all documents meet regulatory standards and project requirements.
* Support corporate governance activities including company secretarial duties and compliance obligations across multiple jurisdictions.
What You Bring:
To excel as Legal Counsel, you will possess the following:
* Qualified Solicitor admitted in Scotland or England & Wales.
* 6+ PQE in construction and infrastructure law.
* Ideally, you will have experience working within the water, energy or transport sectors.
* Excellent communication skills enabling you to explain complex legal concepts clearly to non-legal stakeholders at all levels of seniority.
