ARA Architects is a well-established architectural practice based in Dorking, Surrey within easy reach of the M25 and central London. The primary focus of the practice is that of designing new residential homes, and adapting and extending existing homes, throughout the South of England for clients with a wide range of disabilities, incorporating assistive technology, physiotherapy and hydrotherapy facilities, homes that both enable and empower. Due to a consistent increase in workload ARA, is seeking to expand their office by inviting enthusiastic candidates looking to further their careers by joining our small, but dedicated, team. Project Architect The successful applicant will be required to work both on their own initiative and as part of a team, have a minimum of three years’ post qualification experience and will have practical knowledge of all RIBA Work Stages. The position will require time spent with clients and their families assessing and reviewing their accommodation needs, often working closely with solicitors, case managers and therapists appointed to assist. As project architect, you would work closely with the directors and be required to take each project through planning, detailed design, tendering, attend monthly site meetings and visit site on a regular basis. The successful applicant should be professional, hardworking and reliable: willing to demonstrate their interest in making a contribution to the development and profile of the practice. Key Requirements: * RIBA part III qualified * Minimum 3 year post qualification experience * Excellent interpersonal skills, working in house and with clients and their support teams * Able to take projects forward and work on own initiative * Proven design ability of residential projects * Evidence of detailed design, tendering and contract administration * Sound knowledge of Town Planning Policies, Building Regulations and CDM Regulations * Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office and AutoCad * Revit, SketchUp and Photoshop would be an advantage * Knowledge of NBS scheduling * Full UK driving licence and car would be essential Applications should be submitted by email with a covering letter, CV and examples of recent work
