I am currently looking for a Business Development Director for a reputable global full-service clinical Contract Research Organization with a strong culture and excellent proposition. This is an exciting, newly created role working with a high-performance global team. The CRO has a solid reputation with clients, a stable position, and an excellent track record of year-on-year growth. You will be supported by a respected commercial team and some of the industry's best clinical experts, joining an organization with a collaborative culture.
The role is an individual sales contributor position. It is remote, working from home, focusing on the UK/western European territory. You will be responsible for securing new business and managing accounts within pharma, biotechnology, and medical device companies across various therapeutic areas including oncology, CNS, renal, and rare diseases. To succeed, you should have a hunter mentality, a strong network, and a proven sales record in this region, selling full-service CRO solutions.
Your responsibilities include:
* Achieving sales and business development targets
* Creating and implementing business development strategies for target markets
* Prospecting to build a pipeline of sales opportunities and RFPs from potential clients
* Using Salesforce to track client activities and update opportunities
* Leading and managing the sales process for generated and received leads
* Leading proposal development to ensure alignment with client expectations
* Redefining profitable market niches based on evidence
* Providing input to marketing strategies to support business development
* Contributing to sales targets, strategies, and plans based on industry knowledge
* Supporting pre-sales activities and resource securing
* Engaging with agents and consultants in other regions
* Collaborating with research staff to maximize selling opportunities
* Attending conferences and trade shows to generate business opportunities
