Mid-level Software Engineer – SportsTech
Location: Hybrid (Belfast)
Salary: £35,000‑£45,000 + Equity
My client is a rapidly scaling sports‑technology company building a platform used by athletes, coaches, scouts and performance staff across the UK, US and beyond. As a Mid‑Level Software Engineer you will own features end‑to‑end, contribute to technical direction, and grow within a modern engineering culture.
What you’ll be doing
* Design and build new features across web, mobile, and backend services.
* Develop clean, scalable APIs and application logic.
* Work with cloud‑native systems, data sources, and modern development workflows.
* Drive improvements in performance, reliability and code quality.
* Support junior engineers and contribute to best practices.
* Participate in technical discussions, planning, and architecture decisions.
What my client is looking for
To be considered, candidates will need one of the following:
* Active involvement in sport (e.g. playing, coaching, competing, or ongoing participation in team‑based sports).
* Excellent academic performance in STEM (high‑achieving university or school results).
And you should have:
* 2‑4+ years of experience delivering production features.
* Strong experience with a modern JavaScript framework (React / Next.js ideal).
* Exposure to backend development (Node.js, Python, or similar).
* Comfortable working across the full stack.
* Enjoy solving problems, shaping systems, and working in a fast‑paced environment.
* Strong communication skills and collaboration experience with engineering, product, and design teams.
