Position Overview
Senior Global Procurement Lead (P4) – This permanent role reports to the Director of Global Procurement, Instruments and Automation and is based in Pencoed. The role focuses on developing category strategies, leading contract negotiations, optimizing total cost, mitigating risk, and managing supplier selection and performance for finished goods contract manufacturing and other assigned categories. It drives productivity and sourcing initiatives, aligns procurement decisions with business objectives, and partners with functional teams to support continuous improvement, supplier changes, new product launches, and strategic business reviews.
Key Responsibilities
* Category Strategy – Develop and implement category strategies, manage a strategic supplier portfolio, and identify risks and market opportunities.
* Supply Agreements & RFI/RFPs – Lead RFIs/RFPs, supplier selection, and contract negotiations, execute and manage supply agreements ensuring compliance with delivery, capacity, cost, quality, and change‑management requirements.
* Supplier Relationship Management – Own relationship management for strategic suppliers, including performance metrics, scorecards, business reviews and supplier governance.
* Negotiations – Serve as lead negotiator for complex, high‑value sourcing initiatives, balancing cost, quality, delivery and risk.
* Stakeholder Collaboration – Partner with Supply Chain, R&D, Product Management, Quality and Finance to align sourcing decisions with operational and financial priorities.
* Continuous Improvement & Productivity – Identify and execute productivity and continuous‑improvement initiatives aligned with sourcing and business strategies.
* New Product Introduction & Innovation Support – Execute sourcing and supplier strategies that support new product development, ensuring technical, cost, quality and innovation objectives are met.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering or a related field.
* Demonstrable experience in strategic sourcing, category management or procurement.
* Proven experience leading complex, high‑value negotiations and sourcing initiatives with results.
* Strong financial and commercial acumen, including TCO, cost modeling and supplier economics.
* Experience managing critical suppliers and leading multiple supplier performance initiatives and projects.
* Proven ability to partner with and influence cross‑functional stakeholders.
* Strong analytical skills and data‑driven decision making.
* Excellent business communication and influencing skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
* Exposure to global sourcing and multi‑regional supply markets.
* Experience managing new product launches, supplier transitions, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
* Formal training or certification (e.g., CIPS, CPSM, CSCP, MBA) is preferred.
