About this position: An established automation and engineering business is looking for a Controls Engineer to join their project delivery team in a hybrid role involving regular travel to office and customer sites across the UK. This role would suit someone who enjoys working across the full project lifecycle, from design through to commissioning and customer handover, while collaborating closely with project teams, software engineers, and external partners. Job Responsibilities: * Design and develop PLC-based control systems for automated machinery and industrial systems * Produce PLC and HMI/SCADA software, primarily using Siemens and Rockwell platforms * Carry out testing, fault finding, commissioning, and on-site support activities * Support and oversee installation activities on customer sites * Produce technical documentation including FDS, control philosophies, and supporting project documentation * Work collaboratively with internal engineering and project teams to deliver projects on time and within budget * Contribute to the development and standardisation of control system architecture, software, and hardware standards * Deliver customer training and system handovers following project completion * Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure high-quality project delivery * Support sales and proposal activities by contributing technical input for controls and automation solutions * Participate i...
