We are looking for an organized, self-motivated, enthusiastic, and disciplined Laboratory Technician (Chemistry R&D) to work with our dynamic chemistry team with employees across the world. What you'll do
* Work closely with chemists, materials scientists, engineers and biologists to support activities including membrane fabrication and materials analysis.
* Perform chemical modification of Fibro membranes supporting R&D and production.
* Perform both routine and one-off laboratory testing such as Raman Spectroscopy, Differential Scanning Calorimetry, SEM, FT-IR, BET and dry weight testing.
* Support good housekeeping practices and adhering to Laboratory Health and Safety standards
* Lab management support, including order, restock and maintain inventory of chemicals and consumables and arrange deliveries between sites.
* Document and arrange safe disposal of all laboratory waste
* Take detailed lab notes, documenting and clearly communicating results with the team.
Who you are
* Either Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline with minimum of 3 months laboratory experience, or Science A-levels (or equivalent) with minimum 2 years laboratory experience.
* Knowledge of organic chemistry and/or membrane fabrication techniques.
* Experience in one or more of the analytical methods listed above would also be an advantage, but on the job training will be provided.
* Proficiency in MS Office Applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
* Strong written and oral communication skills.
* Teamworking ability, attention to detail and interpersonal skills.
* Strong organisational and prioritisation skills, able to multi-task efficiently.
