Job Description: Quality Engineer
Basic Scope/Purpose: The job’s primary purpose or contribution to the department or organization.
The quality engineer designs systems to monitor production quality continuously. They work with the production team to implement new testing criteria. Key to these roles is the collection and analysis of data from production or laboratory processes, along with effective collaboration within the company.
Principal Accountabilities: The essential functions and responsibilities of the job, with reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities.
* Serve as the primary Quality Assurance resource for problem identification, resolution, loss reporting, and continuous improvement.
* Develop, apply, and document quality requirements and standards for manufacturing and inspection.
* Design and implement methods for process control, improvement, testing, and inspection.
* Establish and monitor supplier quality requirements and performance.
* Participate in quality audits internally and externally.
* Collaborate with suppliers, customers, and internal teams to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions.
* Apply Lean / Six Sigma problem-solving methodologies.
* Communicate effectively, both written and verbal, with influencing skills.
* Possess strong computer skills, including QA applications, word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
* Demonstrate initiative, meet commitments, and develop new tools or solutions to achieve results.
* Maintain high energy, personal accountability, and integrity.
* Be highly detail-oriented, organize information effectively, and keep accurate records.
* Take initiative, meet deadlines, and work well in a team environment.
* Support New Product Project teams for smooth transition into manufacturing.
* Assist Engineering, Manufacturing, and Marketing with product improvements.
* Proactively highlight potential quality issues to management.
* Handle documentation for first article inspections (PPAP).
* Perform other duties as assigned.

Environmental, Health & Safety Accountabilities: Level of safety responsibility to successfully perform essential duties.
* Follow EHS policies, rules, and work instructions.
* Attend required EHS training.
* Wear PPE at all times.
* Participate in risk assessments, workplace inspections, corrective actions, and safety observations to prevent injuries.
* Report incidents, near misses, unsafe conditions, acts, and hazards. Stop work if imminent danger is present.
* Maintain a tidy work area and ensure equipment is in proper working condition.
This position offers career progression to Senior Quality Engineer and Principal Quality Engineer roles.
Education and/or Relative Experience: Education and experience needed to perform the duties successfully, including levels for career progression.
* Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university, or 1-2 years related experience, or equivalent.
* 6-10 years of experience.
* 10+ years of experience.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Required licenses, certificates, or registrations.
* Six Sigma training.
* Audit experience / ISO9001.
* APQP – Advanced Product Quality Planning.
* Developing process control plans.
* FMEA.
