Our client is a leading logistics and distribution company dedicated to delivering excellence in warehousing and cargo management. We are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Warehouse Supervisor to join our client's team and contribute to their commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all the cargo passing through their warehouse.
As Warehouse Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing all warehouse operatives and ensuring processes and procedures are adhered to. Your daily tasks will include loading and unloading freight, ensuring cargo is accounted for, and managing inventory within the warehouse management system.
Warehouse Supervisor duties include:
* Ensuring the safe loading and unloading of all freight.
* Reporting shortages or damages to the supervisor or relevant department, maintaining proper documentation.
* Checking and reporting dimensions and other cargo details.
* Keeping freight safe and secure.
* Adhering to booking, picking, and stock check procedures.
* Performing quality checks on all freight before dispatch.
* Ensuring all freight leaving the warehouse is signed for and updates are made in the system.
* Maintaining and inspecting forklifts and other equipment, including daily and weekly checks.
* Reporting issues to relevant personnel.
* Maintaining a clean and safe warehouse environment.
* Charging forklifts at the end of each day.
* Familiarity with scanning and barcode readers.
* Following all warehouse procedures and safety policies.
This role involves alternating shifts between 7:00 am and 8:00 pm, Monday to Friday, with some Saturday shifts on a rota basis. Core hours are 37.5 hours per week, with flexibility required for operational needs.
The successful candidate will be offered a salary of £32,500.
Applicants should have at least 4 years' experience in a warehouse environment, including 2 years in a supervisory role. A valid counterbalance FLT certification (CB min 3000kg) is required; FLT Flexi certification is advantageous. Skills in groupage, loading/unloading, and attention to detail are essential.
This position requires proof of at least 5 years' employment history, and candidates must pass a DBS check and Aviation Security Training.
